ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
Sealed bids will be received by the Cook County Board of Commissioners in the Cook County Commissioners Office, until 10:00 a.m., local time, on July 6, 2015, at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud for the following:
Furnish materials, labor, tools, equipment and appurtenances necessary for the construction of new base and paving and drainage improvements for 0.59 miles of existing county dirt roads. The project will begin at the intersection of Airport Lane and GA Route 37 and proceed South and then East to McConnell Bridge Road and then proceed North, back to GA Route 37 along McConnell Bridge Road. The project will consist of re-grading the existing dirt road as necessary to construct a 24 ft wide, two lane road with ditches on either side within an 80 ft County Right of Way. The road section will be comprised of 3.0 inches of compacted asphalt millings over 6 inches of GDOT graded aggregate base over sub-grade reinforcing fabric over a compacted sub-grade. Drainage improvements will consist of the installation of miscellaneous runs of 18 inch and 24 inch Reinforced Concrete Pipe and associated storm drain structures as well as ditch grading in various locations as required to facilitate proper drainage for the project. Necessary erosion control practices and maintenance as well as permanent grassing will be required for the project as well.
All work on this project must be completed within 120 consecutive days from date of notice to proceed.
Bids shall be submitted on Bid Proposal Forms furnished for that purpose in accordance with the contract documents and specifications. No bid will be considered unless sealed and filed with Cook County prior to the time set forth above and accompanied by a Bid Bond, payable to Cook County, for 5 percent (5%) of the bid; to be forfeited as liquidated damages in the event that the bid be accepted and bidder fails to enter promptly into a written contract and furnish the required Payment Bond, Performance Bond, Insurance Certificates, and other required contract documents. Bids arriving after the designated time will be returned unopened.
No bids shall be withdrawn for a period of 60 days after the opening of bids. Cook County reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to overlook and/or disregard informalities or irregularities in the proposals.

A Mandatory Pre-Bid Conference will be held at 10:00 a.m. on June 17th, 2015, at the Cook County Board of Commissioners’ Office at 1200 S. Hutchinson Street Adel, Georgia 31620. Bids from Contractors not attending the Pre-Bid Conference will not be accepted.
