♦ In charge of county building maintenance
♦ Issues building permits
♦ Issues business license
♦ Administer zoning ordinances
♦ Process zoning & re-zoning applications
♦ Inspects subdivision applications
The Building Maintenance Department provides the following services to Cook County Residents:
♦ Maintain all county buildings and grounds
♦ Daily inspection of the quality of county-owned wells and water supply
♦ In code enforcement, this office enforces county ordinances not handled by the Sheriff’s Office, i.e. illegal dumping, abandoned or junked cars, old appliances, etc.
