The County Cook Board of Commissioners has tentatively adopted a millage rate which will require an increase in property taxes by 6.13 percent.
All concerned citizens are invited to the public hearing on this tax increase to be held at the County Administration Building, 1200 S. Hutchinson Avenue, Adel, GA on August 8, 2022 at 6:00 pm.
Times and places of additional public hearings on this tax increase are at the County Adnrinistration Building, 1200 S. Hutchinson Avenue, Adel, GA on August 15, 2022 at 10:00 am and 6:00 pm.
This tentative increase will result in a millage rate of 11.862 mills, an increase of 0.685 mills. Without this tentative tax increase, the millage rate will be no more than 11.177 mills. The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $100,000 is approximately $26.03 and the proposed tax increase for a non-homestead property with a fair market value of $300,000 is approximately $82.20.
